What’s Outside Your Window?

Last fall, I was sitting at my desk working in my usual focused way, when I stopped to gaze out the window.

I caught a little flash of movement outside.

Turns out, it was this gorgeous piliated woodpecker, hopping up and down the trunk of a tree, exploring with his beak for insects, having lunch.

When you stop to consider what’s around you, when you take your gaze away from the focus of work and what you are doing, a new awareness opens you to what is new, what is beautiful, what is there if you just look.

What’s outside of your window right now?
